
Ricardo Rosenberg
Principal & Co-FounderRicardo is Principal and Co-Founder with the Sargent Investment Group and brings over 40 years of investment management experience. Prior to starting his career in the financial industry, Ricardo was a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. — providing economic analysis and policy advice for the economies of the U.S. as well as other countries in the Western Hemisphere. During his tenure, he was also appointed as the resident IMF Representative in Bolivia, advising the Bolivian government on economic policies.
In 1981, he became a Financial Advisor with Thomson McKinnon Securities and remained through its successor firms (Prudential Securities, Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors) as a Senior Vice President of Investments. Ricardo serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and brings considerable knowledge of markets and macro-economic perspective in addition to investment skills in managing his client’s portfolios.
Ricardo received his Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin — Madison. He has served on several boards of non-profit organizations along with helping dreams come true with Make a Wish Foundation. Ricardo has travelled the world extensively for both business and leisure and is originally from El Salvador. He currently resides in Bethesda with his wife and has two children and two grandchildren.
